After this year’s 50-over World Cup in India, seasoned England all-rounder Moeen Ali has suggested he may retire from ODI cricket. The Warwickshire cricketer thinks getting older makes 50-over cricket harder.
Given his spin-bowling and hard-hitting skills, Ali is one of the first names for England in both varieties of white-ball cricket. Moreover, the off-spinner was a key component in England’s triumph at the T20 World Cup in Australia last year.
Ali stated that while he is eager to compete in and win the 2023 World Cup, he does not anticipate staying in that format for very long. After losing the series handily, England will play against Bangladesh in the last T20I with the hopes of picking up a consolation win.
