Out-of-favor With a 153-ball 244 for Northamptonshire in England’s One-Day Cup match against Somerset on Wednesday, India’s opener Prithvi Shaw showed off his return to form.
In order to reach his second List A double century, the 23-year-old, who is participating in his first county season, smashed 28 fours and 11 sixes. His 165 against Karnataka in the Vijay Hazare Trophy semi final, which helped Mumbai win the trophy in 2020–21, was his ninth List A century and first since then.
Shaw reached his first 100 for the team off 81 balls while playing in his third game for Northamptonshire. He then effortlessly reached the 200-run milestone off just 129 balls, propelling Northamptonshire to 415/8 after they decided to bat.
In the Vijay Hazare Trophy in February 2021, the Mumbai batsman hit an unbroken 227 against Puducherry to record his first List A double hundred.
Shaw’s career had a strong beginning, but he has since fallen in India’s standing. Shaw, who had struck a staggering 379 against Assam in a Ranji Trophy match, struggled for Delhi Capitals in the IPL.
